Since 1993, Ely’s Fine Foods has been part of Toronto’s Jewish food community, bringing together great food, trusted kosher standards and genuine hospitality. What began with a commitment to making quality kosher food more accessible has grown into a full-service food company serving families, businesses and organizations across Toronto and the GTA.
Today, our Toronto kitchen prepares everything from everyday takeout and chef-prepared meals to Shabbat and holiday favourites, while our catering team creates memorable experiences for weddings, Bar & Bat Mitzvahs, corporate events and celebrations of every size.
Through it all, our approach has remained simple: prepare food we’re proud to serve, take care of our customers and make every experience with Ely’s one worth coming back to.
FROM OUR KITCHEN TO YOUR TABLE
Ely’s Fine Foods began with an unexpected career change and a lifelong love of food. Our founder, Elias Azulay, was a contractor by trade who was always happiest tinkering in the kitchen. When the recession of the late ’80s and early ’90s forced him to close his contracting business, Elias decided to follow his passion. What began as a small Toronto kosher takeout business has grown into the prepared foods, retail and catering company Ely’s is today.
Today, Elias’s son Manny represents the second generation, with grandson Eli now joining as the third. Through all that growth, Ely’s has remained deeply connected to the community, proudly supporting local institutions and organizations across Toronto. And although Elias is retired, his influence is never far away. As he still reminds everyone:
“My name is on the business—don’t mess it up!”
